For Grade 8 The World War Two Museum and Gallery Foundation wants to establish two galleries dedicated to the leaders of World War Two. One gallery will be called the Hall of Fame, the other the Hall of Shame. However, the curators of the museum are having difficulty deciding who belongs in which gallery. They need your help! Over the next few weeks, your class will research various World War Two leaders, groups, and inventions in order to construct a three part report for the museum, explaining who should be in which gallery and why. World War Two: Hall of Fame, Hall of Shame is an interdisciplinary project designed to meet the 8th grade New York State Social Studies content and performance standards. It also meets the New York City Board of Educations 8th grade Social Studies Exit Project requirement while incorporating many of the skills and standards of the English Language Arts curriculum. The Hall of Fame/Hall of Shame project follows the New York State social studies core curriculum and helps students prepare for the New York State Social Studies exam. Students will develop important vocabulary and higher level thinking skills as they gather and evaluate vocabulary, assess new information, and form opinions.
