The Traveler In Time For Grade 8 Youll like this project;
its really cool The above poem is the project scenario that you can use to introduce The Traveler In Time project to your students. The scope of this project is to involve your class in a simulation activity: Each student is enrolled in Time Traveler University in the year 2308 and as part of their graduation requirement they must travel to a decade within the years 1940 - 1990 and report on the history they observe. Students will learn historical content, learn how to conduct research, and build upon their language and critical thinking skills as they travel through time using content and thematic software to encounter people and experience historical events first hand. The Traveler In Time project is based upon the historical inquiry model of instruction, which calls for cooperative groups of students to personalize history by conducting close, "meaningful," inquiries into historic events. The project capitalizes on the intrinsically creative nature of middle school learners while challenging them to learn about history by creating authentic products that demonstrate comprehension and higher-order thinking. The Traveler In Time project is driven by the New York State, New York City, and national performance and content standards of several disciplines, including social studies, geography, language arts, and mathematics. The project meets the requirements of the New York City Board of Educations Eighth Grade Exit Project. To download a copy of this project, you will need a userid and password.
